Production Coordinator, BBC Sport

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

From the World Cup to the Olympics, whether it’s Premier League football, FA Cup, 6 Nations Rugby, International Cricket or the top Tennis tournaments, BBC Sport is at the heart of the world’s major sporting events. Throw in our flagship shows such as Match of the Day and Sports Personality of the Year, we truly have a portfolio to shout about.

We’re seeking Production Coordinators to join the team across a variety of output.

We are looking for PCs with gallery skills but also for some planning only roles so we invite applications from candidates with and without gallery skills.

We want BBC Sport’s output to reflect and understand the audiences we serve - for example, the different geographical regions of the UK and the experience of people from underrepresented groups (eg people from Black, Asian or minority ethnic backgrounds, people with lived experience of disability, individuals within the LGBTQ+ community and those from lower socio economic groups).  We are therefore actively seeking individuals with skills or experience that can help contribute towards ensuring we maximise the diversity of our coverage and content.

Role Responsibility

As a Production Coordinator, you will provide logistical and coordination support to a large production team working across numerous  productions. You will need to ensure delivery is on time and within budget as well as working in the gallery on the live output.

Reporting to a Production Manager, you'll work in partnership with editorial colleagues to deliver the outstanding, distinctive, multi-platform content that BBC Sport is renowned for, by providing the ways to realise editorial ambitions within operational and financial constraints.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for talented individuals with a considerable knowledge of Outside Broadcast and live studio production.

You'll have good project management and planning skills with the ability to deliver projects to budget.

You’ll be comfortable with different requests in fast changing situations with a strong ability of prioritising work requests.

These roles are a mix of live gallery and planning skills to enable the efficient running of the output.
