Job Introduction

BBC Studios’ Cardiff base is home to several genres including The Documentary Unit and Factual Entertainment Productions. We make a variety of output from our production offices at Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff Bay. We produce a range of programmes including Crimewatch Live, Bargain Hunt, Weatherman Walking and X-Ray. We are now looking to expand our Production Management Team so we’d love to hear from Production Managers who’d be interested in joining BBC Studios as we look to grow our base. There will be a number of roles on offer across the two departments. You are welcome to select a preference if you so wish.

Role Responsibility

For Docs: We’re looking for a Production Manager to work on Crimewatch Live. In partnership with the Production Exec and Editorial team, the Production Manager is responsible for managing on a day to day basis this live studio series. Being at the heart of the large team, the PM is responsible for ensuring delivery of accurate budgets and production planning in a demanding and fast changing environment. You'll also manage a team of production management staff. 

For Fact Ent: Due to exciting additions to our Fact Ent slate we are expanding our production management team. The PM might work across a portfolio of Fact Ent productions.

The Ideal Candidate

  • You will have a strong track record in working within factual / Fact Ent TV, with a quick turnaround schedule.
  • You will have a positive attitude and be able to build successful relationships, your team, presenters, crews and contributors.
  • You will have exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and be able to manage tight budgets and big teams.
  • For Crimewatch Live, ideally, you will have experience of working on studio output.
  • You will have experience of working with a range of contributors as well as an understanding of working with confidential data.
  • You will be a confident line manager of PCs, PMAs and Runners
