Production Manager, CBeebies (Go Jetters) - BBC Children's

Job Introduction

CBeebies is dedicated to delighting and surprising its young audience and it remains the UK's most watched and most loved channel for the under-sixes. Almost half of the target audience tune in every week (parents and carers with children aged 0-3 and four- to six-year-olds) with 51% saying they love the channel.

Go Jetters is a co-production between BBC Childrens Productions Ltd. (CPL) and BBC Worldwide. Go Jetters is a fully animated landmark series that follows the exciting, funny, geographical adventures of four plucky heroes; Kyan, Xuli, Foz and Lars. These Go Jetters share an insatiable curiosity to explore new places all around earth, learning along the way and offering the audience an action-packed, fun-fuelled and unique introduction to geography and the wider world. Their disco-loving unicorn guide, Ubercorn, gives us funky facts and insights into the real places and landmarks at the heart of each mission he sets for them.

Role Responsibility

As Production Manager you’ll deliver first-class production management that will enable the team to create amazing content. You’ll use your expertise and initiative to create and maintain accurate, thorough and professional business management processes and procedures.

You'll manage financial and contractual responsibilities according to the BBC Children’s Ltd SPV guidelines, including cost reporting, managing POs, supplier invoices, freelance and staff contracts, and inputting payment requests for the payroll run.

You will ensure that the production and output is delivered to budget, whilst maximising value for money, managing all related risks and issues, and ensuring that all content and production is accurately measured and reported in a timely fashion.

Are you the right candidate?

You'll have experience of working with young children and will lead a team who are responsible for ensuring child safety.

You’ll drive innovation, change and ensure continuous improvements are implemented throughout the production process. You’ll have line management responsibilities that ensure we grow and develop strong and dynamic production management teams of the future

You’ll thrive on remaining calm, organised and focused under pressure, and naturally you’ll have excellent influencing, persuading and problem solving skills.  A superb team leader, you’ll have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and develop Production Co-ordinators and Production Management Assistants. 

Desirable: Knowledge of working with animation and comprehensive knowledge of complex post production schedules for a high volume of content production.
