BBC Sports strategy is to continue to grow its digital services and become a must-have daily service for 16-34 year-olds - delivering content when and where they want it.
We’re seeking a Production Manager to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of the Digital Sport team working across Online, Digital Video and Social Media production.
The successful candidate will professionally manage a portfolio of content from preparation for slate sign off through to delivery using specialist production management skills, knowledge and experience.
Reporting to a Production Executive, you'll work in partnership with editorial colleagues to deliver the outstanding, distinctive, multi-platform content that BBC Sport is renowned for, by providing creative ways to realise editorial ambitions within operational and financial constraints in these areas of continuous output.
The role will bring effective leadership to the production management team and play a key role in maintaining a professional pan-BBC production management community.
Are you the right candidate?
We're looking for a talented individual with considerable production experience across platforms and a real interest and understanding of the variety of content produced in Digital Sport. You will have demonstrable working knowledge of production being jointly accountable with editorial colleagues for a variety of aspects including compliance with BBC policies and managing operational performance. You will need experience of working with large teams, driving a project and line management skills and managing productions finances.
You will be required to embrace BBC Sports objectives to deliver new audiences, drive continuous improvement, whilst encouraging and supporting creativity, innovation and diversity within teams.
You will be an experienced manager and enjoy developing the skills of your Production Management team. You will be a confident communicator and able to liaise with a range of Journalists, Producers, Suppliers and collaborate with the other Production Managers within Sport and across BBC North.
The role is offered as a Continuing contract.
