Production coordinator - Fantasy Adventure Show

Job Introduction

BBC Children’s is looking for a Production Coordinator for a CBBC Fantasy Adventure Show.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a challenge show that combines an engaging narrative with thrilling games and fantasy role play.

It adopts the traditional values of a past gone era and culture. Honour, fair play, bravery, competition and heroism are at the core of the brand and this combined with character role play against the stunning setting of the natural world make it unmissable content.

The challenges take place out of doors in spectacular surroundings, which, regardless of the weather conditions, provide a stunning backdrop. The games can be physically and/or mentally demanding. Games are not only challenging, exciting and fun, but creative and original.

We are looking for an experienced Production Co-ordinator with knowledge and skills required to facilitate a large scale location based production; experience of Child Performance regulations and licencing procedures is essential; and demonstrable knowledge of complex post production workflows is preferable.

Role Responsibility

As a key team member you should have the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of contributors and colleagues. You’ll be able to anticipate potential production issues and find creative solutions as well as simultaneously managing a range of projects with conflicting demands and tight deadlines. 

You will work to the Production Manager and provide day-to-day support to your production and editorial team. For this role, you will need to have previous experience of working as a Production Co-ordinator, this project will require flexible working hours and potentially working away from base for a number of weeks at a time.

The Ideal Candidate

Demonstrable experience of co-ordinating within a production team of a location based production.

Experience of delivering a range of/parts of productions on time and on budget and of co-ordinating deliverables for productions.

Knowledge and experience of Child performance regulations and licensing procedures.

Ability to co-ordinate complex post production schedules, pre-empting potential issues and finding solutions.

Good working knowledge of end-to-end multi-platform production with a level of technical awareness.

Able to work on your own without supervision, relying on your initiative.

Excellent organisational and planning skills - able to schedule and prioritise people and activities to meet operational deadlines.

Able to use and advise on production systems and adopt new technologies on productions.

Knows how to identify and source suitable resources and negotiate deals within given parameters.

Demonstrable experience of working productively and collaboratively within a diverse production team.

Experience of influencing and motivating team members to achieve results.

Essential business and finance skills - able to prepare, manage and/or monitor specific production resource plans and budgets.

Well developed written and verbal communication skills.

Recognised formal Health & Safety training (including Risk Assessment).

Sufficient knowledge of BBC policies, procedures and guidelines, including Editorial  & Health & Safety Guidelines.

Knowledge of the BBC and the wider industry.   

Knowledge of BBC editorial guidelines and responsibilities

Contract duration:   Attachment/Fixed-term: 8/9 months (attachment allowances applicable for staff in continuing contracts)
