Would you like a creative role in Gaelic media?  BBC Radio nan Gàidheal are recruiting a Researcher who will work across our daily programmes such as Naoi gu Deich and Feasgar An-diugh. We are looking for individuals who are interested in the Gaels’ culture, community and day-to-day lives. 

BBC Radio nan Gàidheal is the only national Gaelic language radio service in Scotland, with over 90 hours of content produced each week.

Role Responsibility

  • A’ lorg, a’ rannsachadh agus a’ leasachadh bheachdan topaigeach airson radio, air-loidhne agus na meadhanan sòisealta.

  • Identifying, researching and developing topical content for linear, digital and social media platforms.
  • Providing support to the production as requested by the Producer
  • Recording and editing material on location and in the studio for a variety of platforms
  • Contributing to the development of BBC Radio Nan Gàidheal programmes across genres.

  • Comas airson clàradh agus gearradh stuth airson radio agus na meadhanan sòisealta.
  • Rianail, math air planadh agus air cùisean a chuir air dòigh, air cumail ri cinn-là agus mionaideach nan obair.
  • Cead dràibhidh.


  • Fluent in spoken and written Gaelic.
  • A passion for and in-depth knowledge of the Gaelic community and culture
  • A keen interest in current affairs, arts, media and lifestyle issues.
  • A good knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and experience in content creation.
  • Aptitude for multi-media recording and editing for radio and for social media.
  • Effective in planning and organisational skills, working to deadlines and attention to detail
  • A full UK driving licence.
