Resourcing Advisor - Contingent Workforce
The Contingent Workforce within BBC is essential to the delivery of its world renowned content as well as innovations such as iPlayer.
The Resourcing & Talent Contingent Workforce team is a new team and an integral part of the overall HR function, providing specialist resourcing & talent services to the BBC. We are looking for a Resourcing Advisor to join the team who will be responsible for ensuring all engagements are compliant with HMRC Tax regulations and employment law. Working with Productions and other business areas, the Advisor will ensure all the necessary checks are in place before engagements are confirmed, whilst ensuring minimal impact to the engagement process.
This role has responsibility for analysing the nature of employment requests, and determining if they are compliant with regulations for IR35.
The Resourcing Advisor for the Contingent Workforce Team will deliver an exemplary resourcing service managing the end to end lifecycle for Freelance engagements at BBC. You will be required to manage compliance for each booking, applying generic tests, complete right to work checks, handle pay queries, process freelance expenses and ensure central files are updated. You will provide advice and recommendations to hiring managers on contingent workforce policy and process, escalating any concerns or issues. You will also be required to participate in audit activity, assess information and compile data in response to audit requests both internal and external.
You will also ensure all system and data processes are fully utilised and all records are kept up to date and accurate, ensuring confidentiality at all times. You will maintain a smooth flow of admin throughout the engagement process.
Are you the right candidate?
Ideally, you will have demonstrable knowledge about current best practice, especially around temporary and contingent workforces. You will have some knowledge of Jurisdictional law, regulation and policy in relation to talent & resourcing. You will be able to analyse information rapidly and be able to make informed judgments and provide advice on the best option to progress in line with established process.
Tenacity is a key attribute for this role, as you will be driven to achieve the right result despite challenging internal / external circumstances. You will also be a natural relationship builder to manage key stakeholders and possess excellent attention to detail and accuracy. You must have proven experience of handling, resolving and escalating enquiries but also show an appreciation of how to work effectively in a team to deliver exceptional results. Your communication skills will be first class, both written and verbal and you will be confident in dealing with the full range of business users, via multiple communication channels.
