Bargain Hunt is one of BBC Studios’ most successful daytime formats, delivering a minimum of 96 x 45’ programmes every year, filming with presenters, experts and contributors at antiques fairs and auctions across the UK and regularly attracting over 2 million viewers. We are looking for runners to join our busy production team in CARDIFF.
BBC Studios Factual Entertainment have bases across the UK and are home to many of the BBC’s most popular brands such as Countryfile, Gardeners’ World, Bargain Hunt, Top Gear, X-Ray and Weatherman Walking.
Joining our Bargain Hunt pool of successful candidates will enable you to be offered work as and when opportunities arise on the production. We are currently offering FTC contracts ranging from 3-12 months.
It is essential you have a valid driving licence (and for insurance purposes be over the age of 23) as there will be a requirement to drive a van to and from locations around the UK using BBC issued vehicles.
This role is based in Roath Lock, Cardiff. There may be the opportunity to work from home on adhoc occasions, however given the nature of the role, we expect the successful candidate be in the office full time when not on shoots. For this reason the successful candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of base. The successful candidates will regularly go on location and must be prepared to be away for 2 nights at a time throughout the year, including weekends. In general, normal office hours will apply, however the nature of the role means that a flexible approach to working time will be necessary.
You will support the programme team in the office/home, on location and in post-production whilst undertaking general office duties including form filling, taking messages, photocopying, responding to correspondence, answering telephones, sourcing props and helping the casting team when required. You will assist the team on location and act as a point of contact for a range of contributors ensuring that these are given a positive image of the BBC and the department.
