SSR Specialist - Financial Investigator

The SSR Senior Advisor will work alongside the team on conducting investigations, with an intelligence focus to minimise, or better yet, eliminate, financial crime to BBC Staff, Freelancers/On-Air Talent and locations. 

Role Responsibility

This is a key role in ensuring the safety and security of our assets and people. You will be responsible for leading high level financial crimes investigations, working in conjunction with any external providers required where necessary.. You will retain ownership of your all your investigations from end to end, acting as the main point of contact to any individuals or parties involved, and will follow up and log each investigation correctly by reporting accurately.  You will also work alongside our Internal Audit and Finance teams to proactively investigate and identify any vulnerabilities or crimes, as well as develop anti fraud policies. Where necessary, you may also be asked to partake in other investigations within the wider team and remit. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong background in high level fraud and financial crime investigation, specifically with experience in a corporate environment. Proficient with investigation methods, interviewing skills and independent working. Qualified FI or other relevant certification desirable.
  • Thorough understanding of all relevant legislation around fraud, money laundering, bribery and financial misconduct
  • Experience of devising and delivering comprehensive anti-fraud policies including proactive measures to identify areas of vulnerability and potential risk
  • Extensive data analysis skills, with experience of reviewing and researching documents / evidence to analyse overall fact patterns of claim and synthesize data into professional reports suitable for board level
  • Understanding and experience of risk modelling for financial / fraud compliance reporting, including collation of risk registers and horizon scanning
