Senior Content Producer, Digital & Marketing
As you'll see from the video above, BBC Wales is about to move into a fabulous new building in the heart of Cardiff and adjacent to our central station. We’ll be sharing space with many media and cultural organisations including Cardiff School of Journalism and will be at the centre of the city’s new creative hub.
BBC Wales’ Digital and Marketing department is home to some of Wales' brightest and boldest talent across a range of disciplines and is playing a leading role in reinventing BBC Wales for a new generation. Working with some of the biggest brands in Wales and beyond, the department champions the needs of the audience, looks for opportunities to innovate, delivers outstanding creative content and makes sure people know how and where to find it.
Working with colleagues across the Digital and Marketing department, our Creative Production team shines a light on BBC Wales brands, programmes and services, enthusing audiences in Wales about the breadth of content that is available to them. We blend content production, design, innovation and marketing to support an exciting slate of locally commissioned television programmes. A recently established team, we are looking for keen multi-skilled individuals to work in a truly multimedia cross platform environment.
We are looking for a creative, editorially experienced, well-organised and highly motivated Senior Content Producer. You’ll lead a small content producing team to shape the editorial and creative direction of our digital campaigns. Your team will support BBC Wales programmes and brands by creating compelling short-form video and engaging digital content - including video and image based content across (but not exclusively) BBC platforms, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube based on location/studio based shoots, live streaming events, 360 shoots and other innovative formats.
You’ll be the day-to-day editorial lead on a broad portfolio of work, collaborating with colleagues across our Digital and Marketing teams as well as with external production companies. Working with senior editorial stakeholders is central to the role and you’ll be required to present regular updates and progress reports about the work of your team.
You’ll be a data champion, using content performance analytics to identify and inform idea development and content making processes. And in addition to supporting our TV programmes with rich digital content, you’ll also inspire the team to develop, write and pitch ideas for bespoke digital commissions.
Are you the right candidate?
You’ll have a strong portfolio of multi-platform storytelling projects. You will bring exciting creative ideas for campaigns, strong editorial judgement and team leadership experience. You’ll show an in-depth knowledge of video and image based content production processes. You’ll also need excellent project management skills and the ability to deliver on time and to budget. You’ll enjoy the creative process and be a good collaborator when working with others.
