Senior Digital Producer (SBJ), Newsnight
Newsnight is the BBC’s flagship daily news and current affairs programme reaching 4m viewers per week and actively committed to boosting its digital and social media reach. Over the past 18 months, the programme has vastly expanded its social media profile, and has ambitious plans to continue that expansion with more experimentation and greater resources. We are looking for a brilliant senior digital journalist to develop and expand the programme’s online presence.
You will oversee the development of Newsnight’s rolling web presence in collaboration with the BBC News Website, Mobile & Online and D&E teams. You will evolve and curate the programme’s presence on YouTube and social media, working with the Newsnight team to create distinctive, sharable content. You will work with the programme’s presenters, producers and reporters to embed social media in their reporting and telling of stories, and put digital at the heart of the show. With Newsnight colleagues you will help to build a highly engaged community around the show. You will collaborate with the Impact and BBC News Website teams to ensure that Newsnight digital content is effectively disseminated inside as well as outside the BBC.
