Job Introduction

The divisionally facing Senior HR Business Partner is a generalist and strategic HR role, supported by a team of HRBPs and the broader BBC HR team, including our centres of expertise and in-house shared service centre.  The successful candidate will have a seat at the leadership table, partnering with their client group to define and enable medium to longer term objectives.

We are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to partner with our Nations division, specifically in Scotland. As the Senior HR Business Partner, this is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of the Nations HR leadership team and a member of the BBC Scotland Executive Team.

BBC Scotland is the nation's broadcaster, with approximately 1,100 staff based in 13 sites across Scotland. BBC Scotland produces content in English and Gaelic, in all genres across television, radio and online. It is the leading provider of news, current affairs and political coverage in Scotland.

Role Responsibility

As a Senior HR Business Partner you’ll provide strategic HR support to our Senior Leadership Team and Team Managers across the division and deputise for the Director of HR as required.

You’ll also provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to HR Business Partners, encouraging and supporting the delivery of a high standard of HR service and enabling development and implementation of solutions aligned to strategy.

You will also be responsible for BBC Scotland’s people priorities, influencing the development of business strategy and translating it into a divisional people plan that improves business performance and supports sensitive or high profile HR issues.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have a proven track record of senior HR generalist experience gained in a large organisation with multiple stakeholders, including matrix relationships. You’ll also have extensive experience of operating in a business partner model and working with leaders on strategy and change. You’ll need experience of employee relations and advising on complex cases. Additionally, you will have had experience of working on transformation projects and embedding change.

Location: Glasgow (can be flexible on UK location, but with regular travel to Glasgow 3 days/week)
