Senior HR Business Partner- Nations

Job Introduction

The divisionally facing Senior HR Business Partner is a generalist and strategic HR role, supported by a team of HRBPs and the broader BBC HR team, including our centres of expertise and in-house shared service centre.  The successful candidate will have a seat at the leadership table, partnering with their client group to define and enable medium to longer term objectives.

BBC Northern Ireland provides a broad range of programmes and services, across radio, television and online, for BBC audiences at home and throughout the rest of the UK. Their main base is Broadcasting House in Belfast. Some of the programme-making staff are also based in Blackstaff House and this is home to their largest television studio in Northern Ireland. They also broadcast to audiences in the North-West from BBC Radio Foyle in Londonderry. BBC Northern Ireland employs approximately 650 staff.

We are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to partner with our Nations division, specifically in Northern Ireland. As the Senior HR Business Partner, this is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of the Nations & Regions HR leadership team and a member of the BBC Northern Ireland Executive Team.

Role Responsibility

As a Senior HR Business Partner you’ll provide strategic HR support to our Senior Leadership Team and Team Managers across the division and deputise for the Director of HR as required.

You’ll also provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to HR Business Partners, encouraging and supporting the delivery of a high standard of HR service and enabling development and implementation of solutions aligned to strategy.

You will also be responsible for BBC Northern Ireland’s people priorities, influencing the development of business strategy and translating it into a divisional people plan that improves business performance and supports sensitive or high profile HR issues.

Are you the right candidate?

You will have a proven track record of senior HR generalist experience gained in a large organisation with multiple stakeholders, including matrix relationships. You’ll also have extensive experience of operating in a business partner model and working with leaders on strategy and change. You’ll need experience of employee relations and advising on complex cases and negotiating with Trade Unions. Additionally, you will have had experience of working on transformation projects and embedding change.
