The BBC World Service has grown its multimedia operations in Africa by doubling the number of language services from six to twelve, and investing in modern TV and Digital production facilities. The BBC’s digital journalism in Africa is an expanding field and our ambition is for our content to reach underserved audiences – such as younger and female audiences and more diverse demographics across Africa.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Journalist to contribute to our ambition to create impactful content for African and global audiences.
You will work with journalists to commission, develop and create original digital journalism including video, text and visual content. You will help and inspire individuals develop rough ideas into clear and structured pitches. You will give feedback to journalists on projects and help them shape and execute digital treatments including short, mid and longform videos and look for opportunities to exploit platforms as a way of reaching underserved audiences in Africa.

We are looking for an experienced senior journalist to help innovate and develop our storytelling, to help us nurture and develop in-house talent as well as originate short, medium and long-form content for young audiences on the continent.
