Senior Corporate Lawyer
We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Corporate Lawyer to join our Business & Legal Affairs team here at BBC Studios. The purpose of the role is to provide legal support in respect of a wide range of corporate matters, with a particular focus on acquisitions, restructurings and disposals.
In this key role you will provide legal and business affairs support to all BBC Studios divisions in respect of transactions with a corporate element. The role involves a mixture of work (drafting, negotiating and advising on restructures, disposals, acquisitions, new and existing investments and other corporate/financing transactions). It is a broad role that involves both transactional and advisory work.
Are you the right candidate?
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor, having trained at a top UK or international law firm. You must have a solid understanding of commercial and IP matters and it is essential to have experience of M&A transactions (particularly advantageous if you have prior experience in the film or media industries but not a must-have). This would suit someone with around 4-8 years PQE.
You will need to be a self-starter, hard-working, and have excellent stakeholder management as you will work with internal teams, indie production houses and in some circumstances, directly with talent.
This would be a great opportunity for a lawyer to gain experience working within a global media company and/or for a private practice based lawyer looking to make the move in-house.
