Senior Producer (Multimedia), BBC Ukrainian Service
BBC World Service Group is an international multimedia broadcaster, delivering a wide range of language and regional services on radio, TV, online with a big focus on mobile.
The BBC Ukrainian Service Kiev bureau is looking for a Senior Producer (Multimedia) to join the team on a continuous contract.
In this role you will be responsible for the services multimedia output and determine what our website looks like at any given moment, what story the reader can see first, what angle and what format to choose when telling the story.
It is important for us to be the first ones to report the news, not to rush and ensure we get it right. We want all our pieces to be interesting but also compliant with strict BBC Editorial Guidelines.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a producer with extensive online media experience, who is able to react quickly to the changing news landscape, take balanced editorial decisions and suggest bold ideas. You must have good understanding of Ukrainian internet segment dynamics, solid knowledge of Ukrainian and international current affairs, and experience of working in a creative environment and lead the team of producers.
You must demonstrate excellent text editing skills both in Ukrainian and English, be able to react to breaking news quickly, oversee a moving story, amend and update material as required. You must ensure that BBC Ukrainian output conforms to the highest editorial and production standards; is lively and interesting and of relevance to the target area.
You must act as a point of editorial reference for producers and correspondents, help them to choose the right angle and format for the story, and provide editorial leadership.
We expect a clear understanding of the needs and profile of the Ukrainian audience and the ability to translate these into imaginative and compelling content solutions.
We are looking for an experienced Journalist whois good at storytelling, values impartiality andunderstandsUkraine and neighbouring countriescultural and political background.
The candidates should be fluent in spoken and written Ukrainian, with an excellent command of English.
Basic video editing skills, as well as experience with social media content would be an advantage.
