Software Engineer (Full Stack/React/Node.Js)

Job Introduction

We are looking for a full stack developer to join our Consumer Digital team, providing ongoing support and development for one of our key sales tools. This is a web application that allows potential media buyers to browse and view a catalogue of the BBC’s programme content.

The application has been developed using a microservice based architecture and is primarily built in JavaScript. 

The ideal candidate would have to be comfortable working across frontend and backend services.

Role Responsibility

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop effective software that meets complex product and business needs
  • Write appropriate tests using automated test driven techniques for ensuring code quality and coverage 

  • Review others’ code and provide feedback
  • Write, review and take responsibility for technical documentation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues throughout the product life cycle, including out-of-hours support for incident resolution
