TopGear.com, the digital platform of the world famous motoring brand, is looking for a talented new staff writer to join the team and play a key role in creating the authoritative, funny and exclusive news and feature content for which Top Gear is renowned.

The Staff Writer will source, write and publish multiple news stories on a range of topics on a daily basis to TopGear.com, often to tight deadlines. You will be responsible for generating ideas on how to grow the TopGear.com audience, along with writing and publishing features online. You will work with the Top Gear social media team working to identify and analyse data trends around news and trending topics and propose new story and feature ideas based on this.
In this role you will also need to research, resize and publish imagery related to all stories. You will keep the content management system up to date by uploading news, features and car reviews from the wider Top Gear editorial team. You will also assist the editorial team in management of the car reviews database, ensuring all data and imagery is up to date and correct.
Are you the right candidate?
The successful candidate will have the ability to write quickly and accurately, with a humorous tone. You will be working with deadlines frequently throughout the day, and therefore the ability to work under pressure is essential.
You will have proven experience writing for consumer-facing, online outlets and a qualification in journalism would be advantageous.
This role would suit someone with an interest in and knowledge of automotive culture, who is enthusiastic about this subject. Knowledge of Photoshop would be beneficial, as would experience of working on content management systems.
You will need strong communication skills with the ability to work with people from all levels, both internally and externally.
