The BBC is currently recruiting for a Strategy Analyst to join the Strategy team based in London. This is a permanentrole.
The BBC is the largest broadcasting corporation in the world. Its mission is to enrich people's lives with programmes that inform, educate and entertain. It is a public service broadcaster, established by a Royal Charter and funded by the licence fee that is paid by UK households. The BBC uses the income from the licence fee to provide services including 7 national TV channels plus regional programming, 10 national radio stations, 40 local radio stations and an extensive website,www.bbc.co.uk.
The Strategy team helps the BBC define its future and develop a plan for getting there. It acts as an independent advisor to the leadership of the BBC, enabling senior leaders to develop creative and practical ideas for how the BBC and its services should evolve. The Strategy team mirrors the organisation structure of the BBC, with discrete teams covering content strategy (including television, radio & education, news and the nations & regions), group intellectual property strategy and digital strategy. The team is made up of analysts, managers, heads and controllers with the Director of Strategy sitting on the Deputy Director Generals leadership team.
As Strategy Analyst, you'll be analysing key markets, competitor developments, technological change and audience trends, playing a crucial part in supporting the development of the BBCs long-term strategy.
Working with project teams and managers across the BBC, youll influence strategic and policy decision-making, contribute to business planning and translate plans into detailed initiatives.
Using appropriate business and modelling tools, youll provide high quality research and present well thought-out recommendations to individuals and teams at all levels.
Are you the right candidate?
With a strong background in business strategy, youll have significant experience of qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques and will be able to present complex data in a way that is accessible to everyone. In addition you'll need substantial analytical skills with demonstrable project management and strong organisational & planning skills.
A good understanding of the broadcasting sector and media developments would be advantageous and a strong academic record is highly desirable.
