International News is at the heart of the BBC. BBC News Group employs approximately 2,000 staff in 74 news bureaux around the world. It provides multimedia services to a global weekly audience of over 350 million, in English and 42 languages around the clock, every day of the year. The bureaux react to breaking news, provide news updates and analysis and produce live programme and online output. In a highly competitive market, delivering to both UK Licence Fee payers and commercial partners, BBC News services must be reliable and consistent and continue to meet the high standards expected by our audiences.
The Team Assistant will be working with the International Operations team.
The role will ensure all personnel data pertaining to staff in BBC News India is documented, filed and up to date.
The role will be expected to work collaboratively with other departments within the News Group and across the wider BBC and be responsible for the application of visas for the News teams on deployment, often working to tight timeframes.
The Team Assistant will also be responsible for and manage any vendors the team uses, following processes and procedures.
Are you the right candidate?
The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience of working in a busy Operations team in India. The person should be able to work expertly with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point.
The team are looking for someone who has a creative and positive approach to problem solving who has experience of working on their own initiatives as well as being part of a diverse team.
The person should be well versed in written and verbal communications and should have experience of drafting corporate letters and emails.
Frequent travel within India is required for this role.
