Team Assistant (BBC Children in Need)

Job Introduction

BBC Children in Need are currently looking for a Team Assistant for a Permanent contract, based in Salford. This role will provide support for the Appeals Operations and Legal teams within the charity.

The successful applicant will provide a high level of service to all those contacting the charity by phone, email and post in addition to providing administrative support to the Legal Team.

BBC Children in Need exists to make a positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. This role supports our mission by building, maintaining and monitoring our donation platforms to ensure our supporters and audiences can donate easily and successfully when they choose to.

Role Responsibility

The Team Assistant will be the first point of contact for public fundraising and Appeal Show enquiries into BBC Children in Need. You will be delivering outstanding customer service and providing detailed and accurate information by telephone, letter and e-mail from Fundraisers, Donors, Supporters, Online Shop Customers and all BBC colleagues.

This is an exciting and varied role that will involve supporting editorial initiatives such as CarFest, The One Show and any events as required. You will have a key role in supporting the delivery of the Appeal Night Volunteer Call Centre network, including during the Appeal Night telethon.
You will also record all interaction accurately and clearly in our ThankQ database and refer on all appropriate enquiries. Your will maximise income to the Charity by ensuring Gift Aid declarations are optimised while ensuring all operational processes are efficient and run smoothly.

Additionally, the Team Assistant will also deliver an outstanding level of service to the Legal Team to support all administration. This will include preparing and sending documents for signature; ensuring that contracts and legal documents are properly completed and filed; scanning documents; arranging meetings and meeting room bookings; proof reading; typing documents; filing emails and other ad hoc administrative tasks.

Are you the right candidate?

The successful Team Assistant will have proven customer service experience at the highest level. You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills with a strong ability to efficiently prioritise a varied workload under pressure.

We're looking for a genuine team player who can contribute effectively to the team as well as the ability to work independently. Experience of the voluntary sector would be highly desirable but acute attention to detail, first rate communication skills and excellent customer service experience is essential. Demonstrable experience of working with MS Office and strong database skills are crucial.
