Purpose of the role

We are looking for a passionate and organized VP Ad Sales Marketing & Commercial Enablement to join and lead our New York based Ad Sales Marketing Team. You'll have immediate hands-on ownership over our trade activities across North America, and meaningful impact on driving revenues for the business. This role reports to the SVP of Sales & Commercial Content for North America with ownership over budgets and planning.

Role Responsibility

Principal Accountabilities

  • Galvanize BBC sales and external sales team, educating on BBC offerings including pushing top priorities and distilling information into critical selling points.  This is across BBC News platforms, TV, Digital, Audio services.
  • Lead the creation of sales marketing collateral positioning all BBC business unit assets in a positive light.  Includes brand narrative, audience & data segments, sales decks, B2B event opportunities ensuring consistency across The Americas market
  • Own an annual budget, managing the budget resourcefully and finding entrepreneurial ways to deliver unique experiences to customers
  • Own quarterly business reviews, providing practical sales and client success insights
  • Coordinate the post-sale execution of sponsorships and custom brand programs, driving process excellence, flawless execution, and client happiness
  • Own and manage all award entries and submissions
  • Leading all aspects of day-to-day activities of the marketing team

Scope & Impact

  • Coordinate with BBC Sales leadership in EMEA and APAC, ensuring unified sales strategy on global opportunities and assets
  • Maintain a pulse on the media industry, understanding the needs and wants of the buying community
  • Contribute to in-bound RFP requests, priority client programs, and business-wide ad sales growth initiative

Relationships

  • Partner with BBC News editorial, StoryWorks , Consumer and Product Innovation teams, to identify and build revenue generating opportunities
  • Partner with business intelligence and ad sales research teams to build narratives that support revenue growth

Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, drive hard to completion, and deliver effective results
  • Proven success delivering measurable marketing results; excellent analytical skills
  • Experience creating engaging sales presentations and materials

Professional Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in marketing including experience marketing B2B products or services
  • 10+ years of demonstrated success in marketing planning, field marketing, event management, and/or project management
  • Experience with design and basic Photoshop skills.
