Job Introduction

Welcome to Work Experience opportunities in  English Regions  within Business & Support. If you’re interested in Support & Technology and getting some great practical experience on your CV, you’ve come to the right place.

Role Responsibility

Every placement is different, but your Work Experience will give you a great overview of Business & Support. You'll get involved in events and project work. You may get the chance to watch broadcasts go out on air and understand the production process. 

During your online application, you will have the opportunity to choose your placement and tell us about the things you’re really interested in.

We work at a fast pace. So you’ll need to be enthusiastic and motivated to keep up.

Background/Experience

You don’t need a media qualification to apply. You just need to be able to show us that you’re passionate about Business & Support areas of the BBC and have a genuine desire to find out what the industry has to offer.

We have placements available in the following areas:

Outreach & Events, Leeds (over 18)

A placement based with BBC Yorkshire’s events co-ordinator.  You’ll be involved in the planning and execution of major events in Yorkshire.  Whether it’s planning a major TV broadcast for Children in Need or ensuring our teams stay safe at the Great Yorkshire Show, you’ll see what goes into making big moments happen.

Engineering & Technical Production, Leeds (over 18)

A placement based with BBC Leeds technical teams.  You’ll be given the chance to see how TV interviews are filmed and edited; how technical teams are key to ensuring live TV programmes go to air without a hitch and you’ll spend time with those who respond to technical failures and work to keep our TV and radio teams on air.

Engineering & Technical Production, Hull (over 18)

Support & Administration, Leeds (over 18)

A placement based with BBC Yorkshire’s admin team in Leeds.  You’ll be working with the team of people who makes sure BBC Yorkshire runs smoothly.  You’ll spend time working on reception and with our team of schedulers; you’ll see how the BBC runs behind-the-scenes; and you’ll get a chance to meet and greet visitors to our building.

Support & Administration, Lincoln (over 18)

A placement based with BBC Yorkshire’s admin team in Hull.  You’ll be working with the team of people who makes sure BBC Yorkshire runs smoothly.  You’ll spend time working on reception and with our team of schedulers; you’ll see how the BBC runs behind-the-scenes; and you’ll get a chance to meet and greet visitors to our building.

Support & Administration, York (over 18)
