Extendee - Content Assistant, Global Commissioning, Content Division

Job Introduction

To provide administrative support to the BBC Worldwide Global Commissions team, in particular the Content Executive and the Editorial Assistant.

Role Responsibility

As a Content Assistant, you'll assist the Content Executive in tracking all deliverables relating to our original commissions, which will include liaising with production companies, BBCW Media Operations and external suppliers to ensure contractual deliveries are received on time and logged appropriately. You'll assist the team in entering data into the Global Channels Content management systems and attend and take minutes at Commissioning Conferences, team meetings and development meetings as required. As well as undertaking diary management for the VP Commissioning and Executive Producers as required, you'll arrange domestic and international travel for the Global Commissioning team in line with BBCW policies.

The Ideal Candidate

We need your excellent IT skills – including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and your willingness to learn BBCW internal IT systems, including SAP. You'll have strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and demonstrate attention to detail. As well as good numerously skills and the ability to process large amounts of data accurately, you'll be a good team player, proactive and able to demonstrate initiative.

Exclusively for disabled people, Extend is an award-winning, BBC-wide work placement scheme which offers appropriately experienced and/or qualified people a great opportunity to gain six months’ paid work experience within the BBC.

Although the scheme doesn’t necessarily lead to a full-time job, last year 70% gained further work at the BBC.

From October 2014, 12 placements will be available across the UK, in both programming areas and programme support areas. You’ll need to match the criteria for the placement as well as demonstrate a keen interest in broadcasting and knowledge of BBC output.
